Crossroads Library Genealogy Resources

This is a guide to some basic genealogy resources that relate to Paulding County.  They are located in Special Collections at the Crossroads Public Library.

Birth Records

The Paulding County Health Department has Paulding County birth records (from 1919 to the present).  If you are looking for the names of someone’s parents, you may want to also look in the Census for the years when the person was a child.

Ancestry Library Edition, which is available on the library computers, allows you to search all U.S. census records by name.

The 1890 Census records were lost in a fire; only fragments remain.

Census records for 1940 will not be available until 2012, for privacy reasons. Census records for 1950 will be made available in 2022, and so on.

Marriage Records

The Probate Court at the Paulding County Courthouse has Paulding County marriage and divorce records.

You can use the library computers to search Ancestry Library Edition, which has more military records, including Civil War records and World War I draft cards.
