Birth Records

 

The Carroll County Health Department and the Georgia Division of Public Health have Carroll County birth records.

Other Dates and Counties

 

Search the Ancestry Library Edition (available only at the library) database for all U.S. census records from 1790 to 1930.

 

1890 Census records were lost in a fire.  Only a fragment exists, with just a handful of names from Georgia.  You can search the few records that remain using Ancestry.

 

Census records for 1940 will not be available until 2012, for privacy reasons. Census records for 1950 will be made available in 2022, and so on.

Ancestry Library Edition is a searchable database that includes U.S. and other nations’ census records; birth, marriage and death records; military records; court, land and probate records; immigration records; family and local histories; and more.

This database can only be used at the library, on the computers with Internet access.  You may search Ancestry using the computer in Special Collections.  Please let us know at the reference desk if you would like assistance.

HeritageQuest is a searchable database that includes U.S. census records, searchable family and local history books, and PERSI, an index to genealogy and local history periodicals.
