How do I get a Library Card?
West Georgia Regional
Library (WGRL) branches issue library cards free to citizens of Georgia.
Special provisions are made for persons who live outside of Georgia but
work, own property, or attend school in Georgia.
The following
items are required in order to obtain a library card:
Proof of residence, property ownership, employment or education in GA
AND photo ID
Signature of parent or guardian
for children under 18
$25 annual fee for
non-residents
Temporary library cards
are available for a $12.50 fee and are issued for up to 6 months.
There is a limit of 5-item checkout for temporary
cards, and proof of home residence is required. |

How many items may I check out?
A maximum of 50 items
can be checked out on your library card at any given time.
Librarians will assist children in locating
materials,
but parents or guardians are responsible for monitoring children's selections.

How long may I keep library materials?
Books, cassettes, CDs,
and magazines (at some branches) check out for 2 weeks
Best Sellers, DVDs, and
Videos check out for one week
Audio Visual
equipment checks out for one night

How do I renew library materials?
Materials may be renewed
in your account on the
PINES Library Catalog, in the library, or by phone, with
library card in hand.
Books, cassettes, CDs,
and magazines may be renewed up to
two times.
These items may not be renewed if another patron has requested them.
Best Sellers, DVDs, Videos,
and equipment may
not be renewed.

How do I place an item on
hold?
You may place a Hold on any book in the
PINES Library Catalog,
using your Library
Card Number (or Username) and Password,
or by contacting library staff in person or by phone with
library card in hand.
You may place a Hold on any Audio Visual item (CD, DVD, Video, Tape)
owned by a WGRL library
in the
PINES Library Catalog,
using your Library
Card Number or Username and Password,
or by contacting library staff in person or by phone with
library card in hand.

Where can I return library materials?
West Georgia Regional
Library (WGRL) materials may be returned to any
PINES library in Georgia.
Audio Visual materials may not be returned in book drops.

What if I return my library materials late?
All library materials are free
to check out until they are overdue.
Overdue fines accrue daily, including Sundays and
holidays, in the following amounts:
The fine for late Books, Cassettes,
CDs, and Magazines is $.10 per day ($5 max).
The fine for late DVDs, Videos,
Interlibrary Loans, and Equipment is $.50 per day ($5 max).

What if I lose my library materials?
You will be
responsible for the replacement cost of the item
plus a non-refundable $3 processing fee.
If the lost item is found
and returned with a receipt within 1 year of payment, a refund of the paid
replacement cost, minus the overdue fines that have accrued, will be given.

Replacement library
